Hard work, if you choose to uncover, unlearn and potentially, throw away what you know about yourself and those around you.  Likewise, “What you think you know” implies one might be operating using outdated beliefs or those not of your choosing.

It is work.  It is participatory.  It is illuminating.

I’m so glad you asked! Let’s begin with grounding definitions. The International Coaching Federation (ICF) “defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. The process of coaching often unlocks previously untapped sources of imagination, productivity and leadership.

While the American Psychiatric Association says therapy “is a way to help people with a broad variety of mental illnesses and emotional difficulties. Psychotherapy can help eliminate or control troubling symptoms so a person can function better and can increase well-being and healing.

Coaching, like psychotherapy, is an umbrella term housing many modalities. For example, there are life, spiritual, business, and executive coaches and cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, supportive, and play therapists, to name just a few examples.

Coaches partner to co-create spaciousness for future-forward goals, while, typically, therapists work to navigate blockages surrounding past, sometimes traumatic, experiences or events.

Note: Coaching can be therapeutic. However, it is vital to understand that coaching is not therapy, nor is it meant to substitute mental health services.

Unfortunately, there is no such thing, and I know that sounds like a non-answer, but it’s true! Each session delivers a tailored experience in your personal or professional (or both!) journeys. Sessions are conducted virtually via video conferencing.

Sessions are approximately 60 minutes in length.

Absolutely!  Clients receive access to a private client portal, where they can check in, ask questions, or vent into the void, with any follow responses made within 48 hours.

Coaching is neither passive nor easy.  It also is not the coach telling you what to do or how to be.
